Individual and
Couples Counselling

Individual counselling

Are you searching for a new direction and want to make some changes in your life?

Maybe you have felt bullied at school or in the workplace.

Perhaps you are gay and want to talk over how it feels.

You may feel as if you've lost your sense of yourself and are struggling to make decisions.

Sometimes it's hard to know where to start. Individual counselling can help you to become clearer about what's going on and lead the way to an easier life. Whatever is troubling you it can be helpful to have someone who listens and helps you gain a clearer understanding of yourself.

Couples Counselling

There are a number of reasons why you might feel in need of help with your relationship.

One of you may have had an affair.
You may feel unheard or misunderstood by your partner.
Perhaps things are not the same anymore and you are wondering what has happened.
You may have become distant with each other.
Perhaps you are having sex less frequently or not at all.
Maybe you are considering splitting up or struggling to stay together.
There could be something else which is affecting your relationship.

Couples counselling can help you to express how you feel more freely, listen more clearly to each other and find a better way forward.

An outline of what is involved

When we meet for the first time we'll talk about what has brought you to counselling at this time and what you might hope to achieve from our time together. We'll discuss how many sessions to expect and arrange a suitable time. It's also a chance for us to see how we get along, as it's important you feel comfortable talking to me. Confidentiality will be discussed during the first session and there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions. I'll give you an idea at the end of our first hour together about how we might move forward.

How much will it cost?

Session last for an hour and are usually once a week to begin. The cost is around £40 per session depending on your income. Those earning less may pay less.

About my approach as a counsellor

I believe each human being possesses the inner strength to find their own path to a more fulfilling life, heightened self awareness and a fuller sense of self worth. I practice an Integrative approach to counselling calling on Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive-Behavioral therapy models thus aiming to bring more clarity, insight and honesty into people's lives, enabling them to find a more positive and appropriate way forward.

The quality of the counsellor/client relationship is key to bringing about change. I offer a safe, confidential environment and an open, non judgmental approach allowing my clients to feel comfortable to reveal thoughts and feelings, perhaps previously unheard.

It is often through the empathy and understanding offered that a client is finally able to hear their own voice. Gentle challenge can further enhance their ability to reflect upon life with a new perspective.

My experience has given me the privilege of witnessing firsthand how we can and do access our own natural healing process successfully.
